A Spitfiregirl in Vegas: My quick Engage!12 Recap

Last week was busy, busy, y’all. On the same day I launched my new website and branding, I boarded a plane to Las Vegas (my first visit ever). Why Vegas you ask? No. Not to see the latest David Copperfield show or gamble the night away, but to attend Engage! The Luxury Wedding Business Summit, held this year at the gorgeous Mandarin Oriental.

Next question you’re probably asking is…what’s Engage? Well, in a nutshell it is a semi-annual business summit – created by Rebecca Grinnal and Kathryn Narce – that brings together the wedding industry’s key influencers and thought leaders from around the globe to exchange ideas, network and be inspired to take their businesses to the next level of success. For those of you that didn’t know, I first got my “start” in the wedding industry about four years ago, when I had the great fortune of rebranding Style Me Pretty. The recognition I received was overwhelmingly positive…and thus my foray into the wedding and event industry was sealed! Since then, it’s long been one of my professional goals to attend Engage, and this year I made it happen! Thankfully, I Do Films, Elan Artists, ReadyLuck and Scott Clark Photography were on hand to document the whole event, and I’m excited to share just a snippet of what we all experienced!

Many of you have asked me how it was. In short…AH-MA-ZING! From the thought-provoking speakers, the gorgeous parties, to the beautifully branded gifts…no detail was left untouched.

Cake Master Sylvia Weinstock, a spry 83! Did you know she didn’t start her company until she was 50?

My first wedding clients – Abby & Tait Larson of Style Me Pretty, talking about how to promote your brand online.
The best public speaker I have ever heard – Cindy Novonty, talking about how to eat, breathe and live your brand.
Gorgeous letterpress programs, individually hand painted by my client and friend Kristy Rice of Momental Designs

Lollipops and Jimmy Choos. Which is more yummy?
On Tuesday we had an intimate lunch with Media Coach Jill Meister and Siri Eklund of Two Bright Lights

The gala event and my gold sequin cardigan was a HIT!
Cocktails with Susan Moynihan, editor of Destination Weddings and my lovely client, Julie Sabatino of The Stylish Bride

By the end of the night, we were dancing on the tables, the couches and the stage. I don’t think I’ve ever had this much fun!

Engage is such a unique and intimate experience. I was able to meet many industry greats, like Sylvia Weinstock, Mindy Weiss, Sharon Sacks and Matthew Robbins (to name just a few!), laugh and learn from some true spitfires: Cindy Novotny and Jes Gordon, finally MEET some of my clients face to face, and even dance on the couch with Marcy Blum, Ellen Lehr and my favorite LA guy! So many new friendships and collaborations were made over 4 short days. I can’t wait to attend next year.

As you can imagine, there is still SO much to absorb, and I hope to share more of what I’ve learned…soon. Till then, I’ll leave you with this amazing video, courtesy of I Do Films.
